Daniel Sieberg is CNN's technology correspondent and host of Next@CNN, CNN International's weekly television magazine on science, technology, space, aviation and environmental current events.
Since joining CNN in July 2000, Sieberg has covered multiple technology-related news stories across the country, including ID theft, privacy, Internet security, robotics, consumer trends, gadgets, video games and more. He has also reported from several major industry trade shows like Comdex, CES, E3, DefCon and DEMO. Recently, Sieberg spent time reporting on the rebuilding process in New Orleans following hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Before arriving at CNN, Sieberg worked in research and production for an award-winning show with Canadian television (CTV) in Vancouver, British Columbia. He also hosted a regular on-air segment as a video game reviewer.
In 1998, after working for several weekly newspapers in western Canada, Sieberg joined the Vancouver Sun as a daily reporter for breaking news, feature stories and issues related to technology. His 1999 article for Salon.com on his own experience of being hacked over the Internet drew international interest and earned him the Rafe Mair Award for Excellence in Journalism.
Sieberg has discussed technology stories and issues on PBS's Frontline, Court TV, CBC TV, BBC Radio, NPR and CTV. He also was a featured speaker at the NetMedia 2001 conference in London and co-hosted the World Technology Awards in 2004 and 2005.
